This site contains answers to frequently asked questions to our support team. It also contains tips and tricks, which we consider as useful and presented as questions.

Note: In the responses, we use some common abbreviations for the elements of the user interface.Key combination such as Ctrl + ALT + DEL, means that the three keys CTRL, ALT and DELETE must be pressed simultaneously. A menu item was described as follows: File-> Open. This means that you have to click Open on the File menu.

Known bugs:

Here is the current list of known bugs. The problems will be removed with the next update of the software:

  • As one of our players informs us, there could be with Windows 7 a problem with video drivers were announced. The game could be crashed at starting, when it should show the intro video.
    Because Windows Vista and Windows 7 are not supported at the moment it's not possible to help, unfortunatly. If we are ble to find out what's the problem, it will be fixed with the next update - or the short video intro will be removed until then.

The problems will be fixed with the next update !

Installation error message: WW2Total.exe component not found.
The application could not be started because d3dx9_31.dll not found.
Reinstalling the application could be solved the problem.
This indicates a false or incomplete version of DirectX.
Update direct from Microsoft:
http://download.ww2total.com/ww2total/software/dxwebsetup.exe
or complete for all Windows versions (50 mb):
http://download.ww2total.com/ww2total/software/directx_aug2007_redist.exe
Unpack and then start the setup.

The game is not starting or is crashing during gameplay

On the computers to our disposal the game is playable and running smoothly. Because of the myriad of different PC configurations, there can be no assurance that the game works everywhere.
Therefore, it is recommend that you download and try the free WW2 game edition before you are buying the Deluxe Game, because unfortunatly it is not possible to refund your purchase after you have receive a valid license key.

My license key is not accepted by the game

The license key has 20 digits and is located int the e-mail you should have received after ordering the Deluxe Game. Please make sure that you have entering your user name (see E-mail: 'Licensed to') correct.
Furthermore, there is often confusion with the numbers 0 (O, Q or D), 1 (I) and the letters O (like Orion, not 0 - zero), B (8), G (6). Please make sure that your input was correct, before you confirm it. If you still have a problem with the license key, please contact the support.

I have just ordered the Deluxe Game, but I didn't get a license key or a download link

Please check the spam folder of your e-mail mailbox, not that the automatic e-mail with the license key is there.
You need to input your username (your real name as in the order, under 'Licensed to') and the license key, which you will find in the lower half of this e-mail.
Also you will find there a download link (you can download the game also direct from the download page, because the free edition and the Deluxe Game are using the same installer) and a link to support, in the case that there could be a possible problem with the installation or license key.
Our publisher ShareIt! will send the e-mail with the license key only after receiving the payment. So, if you have choosed during your order bank transfer e.g., unfortunatly you will have to expected a few days waiting time.
