LAN Party

PC's in the development studioMy name is Norman and I'm developing for many years strategy games and business applications for the software market. In the days when the first real First Person Shooters (FPS) were coming up, my frieds and me were starting to play them almost every Saturday in my development studio. With the large number of PC's there, connected to a network, we played such games in a LAN party the whole night.

Unfortunately for us, there was a major drawback with all these FSP games: they are limited to cuted, short actions without really strategic concepts such as resource management or offensive planning. Additional medium or longer-term based gameplay for LAN partys was not possible.

Gaming timeOne day there came the idea for a PC game with elements from my previous, successful strategy games, Axis and Allies and various other games in combination with first-person shooters like Battlefield 1942 or Call of Duty.

With WW2 Total it will be possible to plot strategic decisions about attacks and defences, resources management, researchs and politics, while you could fight with your own armed and moved units in FPS battles. And if you like, you could play long term games, continuing the LAN party or online game via internet the next day or week. All this is done in 3d graphics, with a large variety of units and later up to four or eight players in a LAN party (local network) or a online game via internet !

Many years of work and high development costs from more than 1.5 million US Dollars - only until today - were spent to realize this dream, and now the progress it is already so far, that I'm happy to present the first parts of this project to the gaming community.
Also, the proposals and ideas of the WW2Total community will be implement into future versions of this PC game and you will become support directly from the developer.

Little HelperAnd to the end a short note, because unfortunately I had to make the experience that also in the Internet there is a minority of fantasists and dreamers: we are a small team with still a relatively small budget. The main concern is therefore an ever-advancing game project with an outstanding and perfect gameplay - and not a one-time mainstream project, where dozens of developers are coming and going, as in the commercial game industry. Who is just expecting a high-tech shooter with all possible or impossible effects, thump-thump and the last high-end engine, is here definitive at the wrong place !
This sentences have to be written here, because that no misunderstandings or unnecessary and unjustified mainstream criticism will occur.

But of course, I would be happy if you would like this unique game concept, which will be develope especially for a LAN party or online gaming via internet. Please support the continous developing work by purchasing a license key for the Gold edition. Any support by purchasing a license key allows us to spent more time in the development of this strategy game, because we also have to pay for our rent, food and especially coffee !

Thank you !
Best Regards from

"Find a job that you love - and you'll never have to work for the rest of your life ! "

Computer games are extremely complex pieces of software. In fact, they are without a doubt the hardest programs to write.
To begin with, computer games are ultra-high-performance computer programs. No longer can you use high-level APIs for time-critical or memory-critical code sections. For the most part, you must write everything yourself that is related to the inner loop of your game code, or else your game will suffer terrible speed and performance problems.
One of the hardest things about writing computer games is designing them. Sure, 3D mathematics is hard, but thinking of a fun game and a design to go along with it is just as difficult, in a manner of speaking, and definitely as important. Who cares if you have the latest volumetric photon traces if the game sucks ?
Now, thinking up a game idea isn’t that hard. Ideas are cheap und you will find them everywhere. It’s the details, final implementation, and visual look that make the difference between the dreams of millions of players OR realy to do it !

This allows me to be creative and innovative at the highest level !

This is my daily challenge and commitment and I'm enthusiastic about it !

Why is World War II the theme of this computer game ?

That World War II is the theme of this computer game was from the start not an accident. On one hand, the author has the most knowledge, the best sources and also by far the most numerous 3D models in his collection about this historical period. And on the other hand, for a strategy game with shooter elements WW2 provides the perfect scenario, because it was the only world-wide conflict which was fought completel three-dimensional (on the ground, at sea and in the air). For example, in World War I air warfare was not decisive and tanks were only limited used in the last years. Furthermore, it was the first time that economic planning, armament production, control of raw material areas and weapons research was at least as important as military strategies. Such features are essential elements of every great strategy game !
In addition there are being considered a plethora of historically quite eligible political and military options, which could gave the game each time a different course. And finally, there is also the fact that it was a 'total war' with two irreconcilable camps, which was fought until the final decision, what is at least optimal for a multiplayer game with two opposit factions.
