Flying boat Dornier Do X. The picture was taken during its circuit above Germany in 1934. It could carry 168 passengers, a world record which was not beaten for twenty years.
Air ship Zeppelin in the sky above Frankfurt. The city was the main air base in Germany for the great airships before WW2.

A pre-war lorry in the yard of the brother of my grandmother at Büdesheim (near Hanau, Frankfurt).

At the village of Urspringen in the Rhön (Mountains east of Hanau).
WW2 has begun ! The grandfather of the author of this website was conscripted immediately.
