Dornier 17Z (Germany&Axis, since 1939): between 1939 and the summer of 1940 about 1200 'Flying Pencils' were delívered and, though they suffered high attrition over Britain, they did much effective work and were the most popular and reliable of all Luftwaffe bombers of the early 'Blitzkrieg' period.
